How to get unstuck

Everyone wants to know the secret to getting unstuck in their lives... how to solve fitness challenges, relationship problems, work issues.

I'm going to give you the secret. But ssssh.... no one knows it but you. It's an action that you have to promise yourself that you are going to do.

Ready?

Did you promise yourself you will do what it says?

The secret is:

  1. Close your eyes.
  2. Sit quietly in your chair (or wherever you are).
  3. Take a deep breath.
  4. Think about the things that are frustrating you. Don't think about them. Just name them: my body shape, my relationship, my stress... whatever is your frustration.
  5. Open your eyes, get out paper and pencil.
  6. Write these subjects on the paper.

 

Congratulations. You are no longer stuck.

You have taken the first step to becoming un-stuck:

Facing the problems.

 

The first step to solving a problem is knowing when you are frustrated. You now know this issue is causing friction between your values/desires and what is actually happening.

 

You've stopped making excuses. Now you are ready for solutions.

 

Look at the list you just made and pick one subject. Think of even the smallest action you can do which will start to solve that problem. This smallest action might even be to research the subject on the Internet, locate a book about the problem, or even to 'sleep on it'. The main point is that you know this frustration has been named and it's ready to be solved. Small steps will solve the problem.
